Personalized Training for Every Level and Age
Adult
Theresa’s student base is approximately half adults, and of all ages. Theresa finds that adult students often come to her needing a push to grow in an area that has been on the back burner. Life is crazy and accountability helps!... similar to the idea of having a personal trainer in the gym. Accountability is the foundation of steadfastness and reinforces your commitment and resolve to grow. Some singers are already confidently performing on stage, but have not found the time to invest in elevating their vocal capacity. Other singers struggle with confidence and feel insecure about their limitations. Don’t let these perceived constraints hold you back; with training, any singer can grow at any point in their journey. Whether you are a beginner wanting to grow in basic technique or a seasoned professional wanting to refine advanced technique, any age and all levels are welcome.
Teens
Theresa strives to cultivate integrity and responsibility in her teen students. As she works to develop their technical skills, she also works to draw out communication skills in the shy or fearful student and provides accountability for the unfocused or unmotivated student. Once a student is on the schedule routinely, she expects them to take ownership of their learning by corresponding directly with her. Her expectation is of the student, not the parent. Theresa believes stewarding a good and honest work ethic in young students is important; she hopes to foster a gratitude-driven diligence in the younger student that is appreciative of the investment parents make that is evident not only in the student's action by consistent commitment, but in attidude as well. This is an imperfect process with this age group, but one that she enjoys and finds fulfillment in while walking with them as they grow. These practices, habits and behaviors can have lasting affects into adulthood and the real world. Bottom line, Theresa cares about her student's voices, and just as much their developing character and the person they are becoming.
Pretean
Theresa does accept students 9 years and older, but during these preteen years, active parental oversight is usually necessary to ensure consistent practice routines. At the appropriate age and maturity level, Theresa’s goal is to eventually transition the preteen student to the same standards of communication and work ethic as her teen students. When is it crucial for your preteen to take voice lessons? If your child is already singing on the stage; for example, a child already singing in youth theater should be taking voice lessons to ensure proper vocal health and training. Performing without foundational training can lead to ingrained, inefficient, or unsafe habits. Taking advantage of a child’s formative years by starting lessons early ensures good habits take root early; nurturing these habits at a young age builds a strong foundation for the future. But does your child have to be on the stage to take lessons?...No! If your kiddo has a passion for singing, taking lessons can help them turn that joy into a skillful, healthy, and confident craft!
For Every Singer
Technique Matters
Theresa’s work focuses on building a voice that lasts: strong, expressive, and free from strain. This applies whether you are just starting, rehearsing weekly, or performing professionally.
Train the Voice. Build the Artist.
Theresa develops the technical and artistic tools singers use to perform with confidence and consistency.
These elements combine so singers can deliver impactful performances in worship, theater, pop, country, rock, soul, gospel, blues, jazz, folk, classical, and beyond.
If You Sing Often
This Matters
Whether you’re a beginner or a working pro, performing regularly places demands on your voice. Singing often doesn’t always mean singing efficiently—poor technique can lead to strain or long-term issues.
Common warning signs
- Losing your voice after gigs or worship sets
- Hoarseness after rehearsals or performances
- Fatigue during band or theater runs
- Difficulty sustaining power without pushing
If this sounds familiar, a vocal consultation is the first step toward understanding and resolving these issues.
